One role of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is to identify and report on disease trends (including risks), and what we can do to address them. One tool for sharing this kind of information with the public, researchers, policymakers, etc. is the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) Series, published by the CDC’s Epidemiology and Analysis Program Office (EAPO).

Regular reports from a reputable source help us not have to focus so much on describing what is happening so that we can focus more on preventing or reducing harmful health trends.

If you are interested in understanding and improving health risks, check out the MMWR on your health topic or check in occasionally for inspiration (i.e., key issues that need to be addressed). Or, better yet, work for the EAPO!
