According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (from the children’s oral health section):
Tooth decay (dental caries) affects children in the United States more than any other chronic infectious disease. Untreated tooth decay causes pain and infections that may lead to problems; such as eating, speaking, playing, and learning.
To help families in Oklahoma who cannot afford regular dental care or don’t have access to affordable services, the Oklahoma Dental Foundation (OKDF) sponsors a Mobile Care Center. Taking care to communities increases access to care and prevention messages. OKDF also funds research sponsors dental education. OKDF FTW!!
