Public health schools and programs can be a great source for short, informative and interesting content about public health. For example, you don’t have to only take my word for the value of or variety of opportunities in a public health career, you can hear about that directly from current public health students.
Here are some examples:
The Harvard School of Public Health recently started a new series of short videos titled, Why Public Health, in which their students talk about why they chose a public health career field. In this video, “…an MPH candidate and physician from Uganda, says his experience volunteering at an orphanage in the south of Sudan felt like a clarion call to public health.”
The UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health (GO HEELS!), has a YouTube channel with videos about its community, programs and more. In this short video, a doctoral student in nutrition “…shares findings from her research on the relationship between infant overweight/obesity and motor development.”
In the University of Michigan School of Public Health’s YouTube Channel also has a wide variety of videos about what their community does and the opportunities they provide. This video showcases examples of a variety of internship experiences.
See the Associations of Schools of Public Health’s website to search for accredited schools and programs.
