&A on Facebook
Problems like obesity require teams of people with different perspectives and skills. PHiA: Today’s Daily Herald report on new dietary guidelines features a clinical dietician, journalist, health department official, nutrition professor and community member: http://tinyurl.com/4cpq7p5. And, we know that the numbers and analysis come from biostatisticians, epidemiologists, health policy analysts and more. Teams FTW!

I decided that starting today, I am going to try submitting blog entries as I go. That way, I can provide more info about my Facebook posts and Tweets, explain my choices, etc. As some of you may know, it really is a challenge to Facebook or Tweet ideas…I mean, really :). And, don’t worry, these posts won’t be much longer.
Today’s focus was to be on biostatistics. I have to admit that this is a discipline that I avoided as much as possible when I was in school once I was assured that I could work with stats experts as part of a team. I know enough stats to recognize what I need from a biostatistician and how to communicate that, which works for me. I am going to have to try harder to find news items focusing on the math of public health. Any suggestions for where to look?
