Yes, summers are for fun, friends and family! And, everyone needs a break from whatever they do on a regular basis (e.g., school or work or…).Why not have fun AND learn more about a public health field, meet new people, get ready for advanced training or expand your professional networks?

For example, some of you may be great at math and not sure about how to apply it and help improve health or prevent diseases. A summer program focusing on biostatistics and sponsored by a great school of public health or program can help you multi-task during the summer.

Summer Institute for Training in Biostatistics (SIBS)

sibsnhlbiThe Summer Institute for Training in Biostatistics (SIBS ) is an innovative program for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in statistics, mathematics or science, and who would like to learn about the field of biostatistics. Over the course of approximately six weeks, students will engage in a comprehensive program of coursework, field experiences, hands-on data collection and analysis activities, and interactions with researchers and scientists in the fields of medicine and public health.
